Crafting for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes ~ Dotted Pastels
Once again this week's Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Sewing & Crafting includes a dress and drawstring bag I made from fabric donated by Kristy of Hopeful Threads. The colors don't show well, but there are pale dots of pink, green and yellow in the fabric. And even tho this is a very light
color you cannot see thru it at all. [Tip: Before making a dress be sure when you slide your hand under the fabric to be sure you cannot see the outline of your hand.]
I added a little pink satin ribbon along the hem line.
The colors in this hat show much brighter in the image, in real life they match the colors in the dress amazingly. So fun to have so much yarn inherited that I can match them to the dresses. I added a bit of the satin ribbon as a bow on the hat.
This little snail has these same pail colors on her shell and her pink body matches the satin ribbon. Even her round shape matches perfectly. I'll be adding many more items to go with her.
What's on My Cutting Table.
Next up is another piece of fabric donated by Kristy of Hopeful Threads. This delightful little princess & castle print is very small but there is this dotted print that matches perfectly. My daughter gave me the little princess doll for Christmas last year to use in my shoe boxes and when I saw this fabric in what Kristy sent me I knew it was perfect! And the sparkly purple shoes match the sparkly gown on the doll. UPDATE: I've finished this -- you can see it here: Fit for a Princess.
