Using Unloved Fabric for Parts of Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Gift Projects

While purging my fabric stash of unloved fabrics I wondered what to do with fabrics too sheer for pillowcase dresses, too lightweight for my Operation Christmas Child shoebox sized drawstring tote bags or just a design I do not like.  I decided I can use them for PARTS of other projects.

finding uses for purged fabric in other projects

I have almost enough tote bags for this year, but with a goal of at least 100 shoe boxes next year I will need 200 drawstrings for the tote bags I plan to make.  Making them from unloved fabric will be
perfect!

I can also use it as a casing in these other styles of shoe box drawstring bags

With making hundreds of pillow case dresses each year I go thru a powerful lot of bias tape.  Making some from my unwanted fabrics will be perfect.

I also thought I could use some to make these matching-games for some of my boxes.

Thanks, I have so much fun making hundreds of these each year. Each one is made just a little different and little unique just like the little girls who will wear them.

Thanks, Rachel, I am having fun purging along with you and your readers -- I hate to see it end. Maybe you will make it an annual event :-) .
