OCC Shoebox Stockpile Saturday ~ 7/14/2018 ~ Dollar General Deals and more
I had a pretty good week-was able to get most of the remaining school supplies we needed!! Dollar General was having some back-to-school sales, plus $5 off when you spent $15, which made for an even better deal, here's what I was able to get at a few different stores/days.:
I also stopped by Mighty Dollar and picked up a couple things:
Spent from shoebox packing budget: $43.16
Saved $67.50 or 61%
Saved thru Dollar General sale prices: $52.50
Saved through Dollar General $5 off $15 deal: $15
Plus, I got this photo text from my aunt, she was able to get the crayons we needed:

Walmart has many back to school items out now. The pencil boxes are variously priced, but today the blue plastic ones with the "bubble" tops that were regularly .97 were marked down to .25. There are two types of pencil boxes marked down. The other .25 had a "double" top (a smaller snap-close lid on top of a lid). The discount was limited to blue or purple. I strongly suggest going to the scanner like I did. The other colors scanned at regular price.
They have glue sticks (Rose Art, I think) four for a dollar. They were sold out of the "fashion pencils" at four packs for a dollar. Target has 24 pack pencils for #1.19 and Dollar Store has the Jot brand at 24/$1, too, I think.
Has anyone found child safe scissors for less than .50? I have bought some through Oriental Trading that were a good quality, but I need to always read the fine print, since some do not have blades, per se, but are made for young children to cut only paper. I was looking for something for the kids' boxes aged 5-9 or 10-14 to help with school supplies. I sometimes put thread/fabric/yarn in the boxes.
Walmart has pencil cases for .25. They are the blue topped ones that are normally .97. But use the scanner just to be sure.
