An Operation Christmas Child Christmas Themed Gift

Franklin Graham's Newly Released Book.
Proceeds go to help OCC.
My father in law married again after loosing his wife of 40+ years.  His new wife always dreamed of a big wedding--he planned one and gave her the wedding of her dream.  They love working with children, so much so that they had their whole Sunday school class (12 girls) as flower girls (my father in law bought all of their dresses for them).  They asked their guests to donate to their favorite ministry/charity instead of giving gifts.  In keeping with that wish, we have, over the past  nine years, tried to do their birthday and Christmas gifts in themes of giving or serving.

This past year we gave his wife a handmade tote bag (proceeds went to sponsor a Ugandan woman) filled with crafting supplies she could use with her "kids."  We also included some "fuel" for her--for snacks and Wendy's meals.  We have done several things like this, including gas cards for Dad as he works tirelessly delivering furniture and food to those in need (even at 80).  This Christmas we decided to do an Operation Christmas Child themed gift.

Special order and specially designed OCC bookmark for the book above.
Proceeds from this go to OCC and Samaritan's Purse.
See Cora's Story for more on this and how to order from her.

We packed a shoe box in honor of each of them.
We paid for shipping online so we can let them know the
country the boxes went to.

We will shop in the Samaritan's Purse gift catalog for items
used for Operation Christmas Child--like the booklets handed out
with the boxes and the follow-up discipleship program.

As with their other gifts, we have tried to give them something tangible (the book and bookmark--proceeds from which happen to be giving forward, too) while also giving something in their honor.  I hope they'll enjoy receiving it as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

Thank YOU, Cora! The book mark was the perfect touch--the frosting on the cake so to speak. It gives to them and to others! And it is a one of a kind! Thanks for designing it for me.
